Kendra J. Ross is a Detroit-born dancer, choreographer, teaching artist, Pilates instructor, and community organizer based in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. A facilitator with Urban Bush Women’s B.O.L.D. network and former Director of Programming and Artist Development at Cumbe, she has performed and presented work internationally with artists and institutions including Urban Bush Women, D.J. Kid Koala, Florida A&M University, Ailey Citigroup Theater, and Museu de Arte in Salvador, Brazil. Her honors include residencies with Brooklyn Studios for Dance, 651Arts, BAX, Atlantic Center for the Arts, The Laundromat Project, and she is currently a Jerome Hill Artist Fellow. In response to gentrification conversations in Bed-Stuy, Kendra founded STooPS, a community arts initiative activating neighborhood stoops as accessible gathering spaces, where she continues to serve as Founder & Director.
